When I was 15, my playlist was filled with country music and artists like Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw. But over time, I expanded my horizons and became a fan of almost every genre, from Green Day to Lady Gaga to Adele and Lana Del Rey.

As a constant music listener, one rule sticks with me regardless: never force yourself to listen to something you don’t necessarily like, no matter how big it seems. Lorde has faced a decline in popularity after the success of “Royals.” It’s okay to have changing tastes. Team was decent, and “Tennis Court” received some fair airplay, but it’s understandable that not every fan would hold on to an artist for many years if they are not constantly releasing new material. Lorde took four years to release Melodrama, which is a relatively long time for an album. While some artists can go without new music for months and still produce numerous hit tracks in one album, Lorde struggled to maintain the same level of popularity.
Singling Out Hailed Artists
Artists like Beyoncé, Adele, Bruno Mars, and Kanye West are exceptional in their consistency and the way they produce music. They can often go months without new information and still release multiple hit songs in one album. This level of consistency is rare and highlights the unique abilities of these artists. However, not everyone can maintain this level of productivity. But hey, songs like “Green Light” and “Liability” are pretty damn good!

Whether you love Lorde, cannot stand her, or fall in between, the most essential thing is to listen to what speaks to your heart.
