How to Queue Songs and Create a Now Playing Playlist on SoundCloud

Creating a Queue on Desktop

Creating a queue of songs on SoundCloud is straightforward and can be done directly from the desktop version of the website.

Login to Your Account: Start by visiting the SoundCloud website and logging into your account. Search for Songs: Use the search bar at the top of the page to find the songs you wish to add to your playlist. This essential step helps you locate the exact tracks you want to play. Queue a Song: Once you find a song, hover over it to reveal additional options. Click the More button (three dots) next to the track, then select Add to Queue from the dropdown menu. This action adds the selected song to your queue. Add More Songs: Repeat the process for all the songs you want to include in your queue. This step ensures you can build a custom listening experience tailored to your mood or preferences. View Your Queue: To view the queued songs, click on the player at the bottom of the screen to expand it. Here, you will see a list of all queued songs, indicating the order they will play in. Play Your Queue: Click the play button to begin listening to your queued songs. This action starts playing the first song in your queue and continues through the entire list.

Creating a Queue on Mobile

For those who prefer the convenience of their mobile devices, SoundCloud also offers options to queue songs on the mobile app.

Open the App: Launch the SoundCloud app on your mobile device and log in to your account. Search for Songs: Use the app's search feature to find the tracks you want to add to your queue. The search bar is at the top of the app interface. Queue a Song: When you find a song, tap on the song you want to add. Next, tap the More button (three dots) on the song, then select Add to Queue. This action adds the selected track to your queue. Check Your Queue: To view your queue, tap on the player icon at the bottom of the screen. This action reveals the list of queued songs and their order. Play Your Queue: Finally, hit the play button to start listening to your queued songs. The queue will play from the top to the bottom, with the songs playing in the order you queued them.

Creating a Playlist

Create a more permanent playlist by taking advantage of SoundCloud's playlist feature. Here’s how to do it:

Create a New Playlist: Go to your profile and select Playlists. Click on Create a Playlist in the drop-down menu. This action opens a new, empty playlist where you can add tracks. Add Songs: You can continue to search for songs via the search bar and add them directly to your new playlist. SoundCloud's dedicated search feature makes finding and adding tracks quick and easy. Save Changes: After adding the tracks you want to your playlist, make sure to save your playlist by clicking the Save Playlist button. This action finalizes your collection, making it available for future listening.

Important Notes:

The queue is temporary and will reset after you finish listening to it. This feature ensures that your queue doesn't persist beyond your current listening session. You can reorder songs in your queue by dragging them around on desktop. This feature allows for more flexibility in arranging your listening order. While playlists are a great way to save your favorite tracks, keep in mind that they are permanent and will persist until you delete them.
