The Youngest First Time - 13 at the Kinsmen Field House

Some of the earliest memories of Iron Maiden concerts come from younger fans. One fan recounts attending a show when they were 13, as part of the Beast on the Road Tour. The tour was supporting the Scorpions, and the concert was held at the Kinsmen Field House in Edmonton. This experience was particularly significant as the fan had previously seen Ozzy Osbourne and Mot?rhead at the same venue.

"I was 13 and saw Maiden as the middle band with Girlschool opening and the Scorpions as the headliner. Concert was at the Kinsmen Field House in Edmonton where I had seen Ozzy and Motrhead the year before lying to a different rector. I was in summer immersion courses in Edmonton and I lied to the rector of the school again a priest that my mother would let me attend if I was at home. Mom never heard about the first time because I didn’t buy a tour shirt but those Beast on the Road tour shirts were irresistible. Also my younger brother had to attend with me at the insistence of the rector. We both had to check in when we got back."

This was just the beginning of a lifelong passion for the band, and the fan has attended Iron Maiden concerts every tour in Alberta, even driving to Edmonton to see them with Anthrax opening when there was no Calgary show scheduled.
