BTS’s Future: Will the Group Continue or Break Up?
The South Korean sensation BTS has been a dominant force in the K-pop music industry for years. However, as the group members approach the conclusion of their mandatory military service, questions arise about their future plans. Will BTS continue to make music together indefinitely, or is there a possibility of the group breaking up?
Long-Term Ambitions
During an interview in November 2024, Jin, a key member of the group, expressed his thoughts on their future plans. He said, Before joining the military, I was invited as a guest performer at Coldplay’s concert in Argentina. They bring their families on tour. I saw that and realized it’s really possible for them. I thought it was really great to be able to reunite. We talk about this often. We would like to be on stage until we can’t move. Even though we’ll have our own lives, we’ll also go on stage together. And if we have our own families, we can bring them and go perform together. We’re talking about 10, 20, 30 years from now. I want to be on stage when I’m 50. These comments reflect the group’s strong desire to continue their musical journey despite their individual commitments.
Return from Military Service
It is a fact that after they finish their military service, BTS will resume their activities as a group. Jin has mentioned this multiple times during various interviews, stating that the group will be together for a long time. Analyzing the situation, it is highly likely that some members will take a few days off after their military service, while others may start working on a new album as soon as the group reunites.
Given the complex nature of their future plans, it is clear that many factors will shape BTS’s direction. As the members age and launch successful solo careers, the balance between group activities and individual projects will change. While BTS will not disband, it is reasonable to assume that the group’s activities will take a secondary role compared to their solo endeavors.
Planning for 2025 and Beyond
According to insider speculation, the second half of 2025 will be dedicated to the creation and production of a new album. By the beginning of 2026, fans can expect to see news about a concert tour. This tour is anticipated to cover major destinations such as the USA, various European countries, the Arab Emirates, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, and possibly 2 or 3 countries in Latin America and 1 in the African continent.
After this tour, it is likely that the group will take a break to focus on their solo careers. Some members might even consider solo concert tours in the more distant future, around 2027 or 2028.
Conclusion: BTS’s future remains uncertain, but it is clear that the group has a strong inclination to continue making music together. While solo careers will undoubtedly play a significant role in their plans, the group’s legacy and upcoming projects promise continued excitement for K-pop fans worldwide.
